Bible verses for the Christmas Season
Ah the Christmas season is here.
Christmas is my favourite season of all season. Jesus is the reason of the season. It is the time of the year where we get to celebrate the birth of Jesus. Unfortunately where I am living, we don’t get a white Christmas, but then again Jesus was not born in a snowy environment, He was born in the small town of Bethlehem, in a manger.
It’s funny how the kings of kings was not born in an opulent palace but in a small smelly animal manger. Perhaps it’s to signify that Jesus grew up just like us, in an ordinary family, so that He could understand us and the things we might go through in an average family.
But the main reason why Jesus came down and was born as a baby boy, was because of God’s love for us. John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” God loves us so much, but because of Adam’s sin we could not be near God, God is a righteous God, because God loves us so much, He willingly gave His son, Jesus, bearing all our sins, to be crucified on the cross, so that today we can have a relationship with God through Jesus’s finished work on the cross. Today we can come boldly to our Heavenly Father, have a relationship with our Father, pray bold prayers, because of Jesus.
As we celebrate Christmas this season, let us remember the reason for this season, a birthday celebration for Jesus, to remember God so love us, that He send Jesus down to earth as a baby boy.
